Marcel Bois was born in 1978. Currently he is a visiting lecturer at the Ruhr-University Bochum and an associate researcher at the Research Centre for Contemporary History in Hamburg. In 2014 he was awarded a PhD from the Zentrum für Antisemitismusforschung [Centre for the Study of Anti-Semitism] at the Technical University in Berlin. His research focuses on the history of the KPD in the Weimar Republic. He has widely published on this subject and is author of Kommunisten gegen Hitler und Stalin. Die linke Opposition der KPD in der Weimarer Republik. Eine Gesamtdarstellung (Communists against Stalin Hitler and Stalin. The KPD’s Left Opposition in the Weimar Republic) (Essen 2014). He is currently working on a biographical study of the Austrian communist and architect Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky (1897-2000).
