Jack Fawbert was a carpenter and joiner in the construction industry in the 1970s and early 1980s. He was blacklisted for his trade union activities and subsequently went to university. He was a Senior Lecturer at several universities for twenty-five years, teaching mainly Sociology, before retiring in 2013. He joined the Blacklist Support Group to fight for justice for blacklisted building workers. He was one of 771 workers who received compensation from construction companies prior to a High Court Group Litigation case. Jack continues to fight for an end to blacklisting and for a full and transparent public inquiry into this conspiracy.
