Isabelle Hesse

Isabelle Hesse is a Lecturer in English at the University of Sydney, where she teaches and researches contemporary world literature. Her work is situated at the nexus of postcolonial, Jewish, and Middle Eastern studies and her research interests include postcolonial literature and theory, Palestinian and Israeli writing and film, the intersection between postcolonial and Jewish studies, and the cultural memory of colonialism and the Holocaust in Europe. She published her first book The Politics of Jewishness in Contemporary World Literature with Bloomsbury in 2016 and her research has appeared in the Journal for Cultural Research, Textual Practice and Postcolonial Text.
