Iro Filippaki received her BA in English Literature in 2009 and her MA in Literature, Ideology, and Narratology in 2011 from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. Iro completed a PhD in English Literature and Medical Humanities at the University of Glasgow in 2016. Her thesis titled The Tropics of Trauma: Affective Representations in War Narratives, 1917-2006 examines the affective representation of trauma in a range of war narratives from Stratis Myrivilis, to Chimamanda Adichie. Iro has been employed as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Glasgow since 2013. Her side project is writing about Greek texts in relation to trauma and politics.
