Marx & Engels Collected Works Vol 26
Volume 26 contains works by Engels, most of which were written between August 1882 and December 1889. They include such well-known major writings as The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State, Ludwig Feuerbach and the End of Classical German Philosophy and also the unfinished work The Role of Force in History. Considerable space in the volume is devoted to Engels’ prefaces to new editions of works by Marx, by Engels himself, and by their comrades-in-arms. Among the subjects of these prefaces are the defence of Marx’s economic theories against attacks by ideological adversaries, an analysis of new phenomena in the development of capitalist economy, revolutionary tactics during the period of the Anti-Socialist Law of 1878 and the denunciation of the influence on the proletarian movement of the various reformist trends in European Social-Democracy.
