Marx & Engels Collected Works Vol 11
Marx and Engels:1851-1853
Volume 11 contains the works of Marx and Engels from August 1851 to March 1853. It includes two major works The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte by Marx and Revolution and Counter-Revolution in Germany by Engels, which carried further their theoretical generalisation of the experience of the 1848-49 revolutions in Europe. Their analysis of major historical events was an important stage in the development of Marxist theory on the class struggle and revolution, the state and the alliance between the proletariat and the peasantry. A number of articles and in particular Marx’s pamphlet Revelations Concerning the Communist Trial in Cologne reflect the struggle waged by Marx and Engels and their associates against reaction and police arbitrariness and their efforts to help the victims of government persecutionand the hounding of Communists.
