This
is a collection of essays by senior policy makers from international institutions,
leading trades unionists and distinguished researchers. It explores the challenge
facing progressives in Europe and the USA who wish to address the problems
of inequality and insecurity while taking on board economic realities.
The book divides into four broad areas: changes in the world economy; a comparative analysis of unemployment and labour market reform; taxation and public finance; and an investigation into new partnerships between unions and other actors in society.
